Someone is inevitably going to try to come up with a cutesy way to connect this CNN piece to this year's throng of movies about unexpected pregnancies—Juno (Fox Searchlight), Knocked Up (Universal), Waitress (Fox Searchlight), Bella (Roadside Attractions), and Four Months, Three Weeks, and Two Days (IFC Films)—so why not do it first and point out the obvious: these movies are not promoting an agenda, but rather telling fascinating stories about people who find themselves in this most difficult of situations. I can state with near-certainty or in at least one case total certainty that the directors of these films—people like Jason Reitman, Judd Apatow, and Adrienne Shelley—are/were nothing if not pro-choice.
