After 33 years, Hank Aaron has been out-homered by Barry Bonds, but not out-classed.
‘Nuff said? I don’t know… I have very conflicted feelings about this… I hate Barry for taking away the innocence of the game… but we forget too easily that he is but one of a whole generation of players—including the pitchers who gave up his home runs—who used performance-enhancing substances…we’ll never know most of their names, but we’ll never forget his… to me, one of the saddest things is he was great before all this, and might well have broken the record anyway. A tragic, fatally-flawed hero of epic proportions in our own time? Someone’s gonna make a movie.
