THE SITE

And The Winner Is... is one of the premier web sites devoted to covering the motion picture awards race year-round. Popular among film buffs and industry insiders, it features commentary on all major releases, festivals, and awards groups; exclusive interviews with key players in the race; and expert predictions and analysis.

Scott Feinberg, the site's editor, is one of the film industry's most trusted awards analysts, and has one of the world's best track records at projecting the Academy Awards.

Feinberg, who studied film at Yale University and Brandeis University, is a contributor to the Los Angeles Times "Buzzmeter" and Movie City News "Gurus o' Gold 2.0," and is now in his eighth year as the on-air Academy Awards analyst for the ABC News affiliate in New Haven, Connecticut. Previously, he conducted interviews for the web site OscarWatch.com and contributed to the online newsletter "Oscar Talk." (In 2006, he correctly projected 21 of 24 Oscar winners, placing first internationally among pundits according to OscarCentral and Variety.)

He is currently at work on a book that he hopes will excite young people about the great films of the past. It features an introduction by Academy Award winner Margaret O'Brien and exclusive conversations with roughly 100 key figures from the world of film, from the last living star of the silent era through many of today's biggest stars. He has interviewed: Oscar winners F. Murray Abraham, Alan Arkin, Javier Bardem, Adrien Brody, George Clooney, Diablo Cody, Marion Cotillard (1)/(2)/(3), Louise Fletcher, Louis Gossett Jr., Glen Hansard, Celeste Holm, Luc Jacquet, Patricia Neal, Margaret O'Brien, Emmanuel Priou, Cliff Robertson, Eva Marie Saint, Tilda Swinton, and Rachel Weisz; Oscar nominees Amy Adams, Joan Allen, Betty Comden, Jackie Cooper, Roger Deakins, Matt Dillon, Heidi Ewing, Nina Foch, Charles Ferguson, Peter Fonda, Tony Gilroy, Rachel Grady, Hal Holbrook, Tamara Jenkins, Sally Kirkland, Brett Morgen, Viggo Mortensen, Kevin O'Connell, Ellen Page (1)/(2), Jason Reitman (1)/(2), Debbie Reynolds, Amy Ryan (1)/(2), Roy Scheider, Talia Shire, Gloria Stuart, and Max von Sydow; and Corey Allen, Mathieu Amalric, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, Kenny Baker, Brigitte Bardot, Gene Barry, Emily Blunt, Philip Bosco, Harry Carey Jr., Kitty Carlisle, Michael Cera, Marge Champion, Cyd Charisse, Norman Corwin, Peggy Cummins, Jeff Daniels, John Bul Dau, Angie Dickinson, Aaron Eckhart, Rhonda Fleming, Ben Foster, Matthew Fox, Anne Francis, Dolores Fuller, Jennifer Garner, Betty Garrett, Richard Griffiths, Jack Grinnage, Jonah Hill, Paris Hilton, Marsha Hunt, Richard Jenkins, Cammie King, Mickey Kuhn, Carla Laemmle, Don LaFontaine, Charles Lane, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Melissa Leo, Joan Leslie, A.C. Lyles, Anthony Mackie, Peter Mamakos, Jerry Maren, Rose Marie, Benjamin McKenzie, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Leslie Nielsen, Anita Page, Nehemiah Persoff, Bill Pohlad, Meinhardt Raabe, Ann Robinson, Keri Russell, Ann Rutherford, Kelley Sane, Tabu, Doris Eaton Travis, Eli Wallach, Ruth Warrick, Jodie Whittaker, Jane Withers, and Lana Wood.

"In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is more meaningful than our criticism designating it so. But there are times when a critic truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defense of the new. The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations. The new needs friends." -Ratatouille
